The Silk brand has been a long standing reputable health foods brand for more than a decade. Owned by Whitewave Foods, who own other brands such as Horizon Milk, Land O Lakes Butter, Alpro, Earthbound Farm and International Delight. They were practically the first to introduce soy milk to the mainstream and continue to innovate in the non dairy vegan food market. I was a huge fan of their products, but since they were purchased by WhiteWave a lot of things have changed. Even though Whitewave does a lot of good things for the environment there are still some big corporate entrenched in the way they do business vs. a smaller natural organic brand. Unfortunately, their has been some notions that the company may source non organic soy beans from outside of the USA. I try to support USA sourced product vs. non USA sourced. This just makes me feel better and I'm supporting my country! Also, they do not offer a plain flavored or Organic. In my mind buying organic is the only way to go! Non-GMO would be nice as well.
