As they say, the first time was bad luck the second time we were stupid.
Yes, their dishwasher and ironing machine are great.
But the cooktop needed the main module replacement right after purchase (the automatic reignition would continue ticking for several MINUTES), and after the warranty expired, the burners became more and more difficult to ignite, taking sometimes up to 10 tries.
We figured - I cooked a lot, 8 years is a lot of use, we decided to get another Miele.
Bad decision!!
Soon enough the reignition would think the flame was out (it wasn't) and continue SPARKING continuously driving me insane, one of the front burners wouldn't stay on at all (thermocouple shot), the rear burner would take at least 6 tries to stay on
Garbage TWICE,.
My husband is gas fitter and he said that if I get him the module (big $$) and a new thermocouple he will fix it.. but I am not throwing good money after the bad!
and yes, the Miele names disappeared on both units in no time, I think it is on purpose so the Miele doesn't have to admit they were behind this technological genius. Visitors to our home might thing it is a piece of junk made in China..
And no, the design has not changed for the past 15 years - innovation is apparently a foreign concept for Miele.

Don't buy it - you will love it for the first couple of months and leave great reviews and then you will want to kill yourself while trying to prepare a dinner.
